Arizona Man Awakens To Stranger Holding His Toddler, Stranger Says He Thought He Was Playing With A Midget

Here’s something you don’t see everyday.

According to The Washington Post, a Tempe man awoke early Thursday morning to pretty much the craziest thing imaginable when he walked into his own living room and found a stranger holding his two-year-old kid in his lap, but the reason that stranger gave a judge the next morning for doing so might be even crazier than that.

His reason for breaking into the house and holding homeowner’s child in his lap? You guessed it: He was shithoused and thought he was “playing with a midget.”

That excuse didn’t go over too well with the toddler’s father the night of the incident, as both he and the intruder, 34-year-old Oren Aharon Cohen, scuffled with each other for roughly 10 minutes. Cohen briefly broke free of the father’s grip and ran down a set of stairs in the apartment complex, but Superdad quickly caught up with him and held him until police arrived.

Cohen didn’t care too much for the cops either, and he was eventually tased for not obeying their commands. The next day, he pleaded with the judge to let him go because he “didn’t do anything.”

“I went to visit a friend,” Cohen said. “Her name is Carolina. She lives in this complex. We were drinking a lot over there in her house. We went outside — I went outside [to] smoke a cigarette. I guess I got blacked out. I went to the wrong door and that’s why you guys charge me [with] burglary? For going to the wrong apartment. And I guess, that’s when I saw this midget. It looks like a midget and I thought it’s [a] midget.”

The judge apparently didn’t care too much for that excuse either, as he’s currently holding Cohen at the Maricopa County Jail on a $250,000 cash bond for second-degree burglary, aggravated assault and kidnapping.
